And wanted me to figure out what it was.

Here's the commercial:

I established it was a Land Rover Defender 110. I love it, she loves it, I love that she loves it.

I'm on a tear looking up these things...and the want is high (though the chances are non-existent).

They're so cool...I don't care about practicality or otherwise. Oh well...I'm sure you will all agree, it's just fun to muse and window shop.

A couple weeks ago, my gf told me she watched some documentary where they were driving around what she called "older style Land Rovers" that she really liked. I showed her a picture of some Defenders and she confirmed that was what she was talking about.

So if we follow the rule of two's a trend, women like Land Rover Defenders.

That's pretty funny.

I was talking to her about cars last week and she just said she loves two kind of cars: classics and boxy ones. This checked both boxes apparently!

"They're so cool" is exactly the reason you can't find them. I mean, they are pretty poor vehicles generally, but the cool factor has put their prices through the roof.

As seen when you do a search. She sent me a message saying something like "lololol 95-97s are 60000+" so there's that.

I figured you'd be weighing in on this haha.

I LOVE 110 wagons in the sense that they are what I feel Land Rovers need more of, but they are underpowered, don't seal out dust or water worth a darn, cramped (oddly) noisy and not particularly reliable. for $60,000 you can certainly do "cool" better.

Without any sort of legitimate knowledge of Land Rover outside of my perceptions and what I read, I agree 100%.

They do, in my mind, epitomize what I wish Land Rover would do. My boss has a Range Rover Sport that he loves and I just sigh because it will never touch anything rougher than Massachusetts roads.

see? low miles, quirky but reliable and at less than a 6th of 110 money. I dig the 55 a lot for its looks.

As a small note, a Santana Defender is actually a Series III in disguise. It's not really a Defender as such, actually a "Series IV", and thus sick cool.

if you have the cash..

look for one of these.

Ive met three of them, and i know of one that burned in an accident.

..yes i was stalking them for many years.

Original 1993 US Spec NAS Land Rover Defender 110's

Imported only in 1993 they are some of the most sought after vehicles not only because of the great number of enthusiasts that would like to own one but also because speculators and collectors limit the number of vehicles that come up for sale on ebay to may be 1 or 2 per month.

The total number of Land Rover imported Defender 110's into North America is thought to be around 536 vehicles, all of which were originally white.

525 of them were tagged with a badge that either is xxx/500 for US vehicles or xx/25 for Canadian vehicles.

All have VIN#'s that are conform to US DOT/EPA standards
